Biography


Since graduating from the University of Waikato with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Screen and Media Studies, Dan Inglis has worked on a variety of film, television and music video projects.


In 2006 Dan co-wrote, directed, shot, and co-edited Robin Slade: Time Tourist as part of the New Zealand 48HOURS Film Competition. The film won the Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Music awards at the Hamilton final, and was a national finalist, of the competition.


Dan has worked with Hamilton-based Chasing Time Productions on several film projects including Assistant Director on the feature film Pictures of You (2008), Production Manager on the short film Lily White (2011), and Co-Production Designer, Camera Operator and Co-Editor on the short film Pride of Caldwell (2012).


Over the last few years Dan has been creating experimental digital short films, several of which have been well received at international film festivals in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. In 2012 Plural (2011) received the Special Jury Citation in the experimental category of the 9th Annual Oxford Film Festival, Oxford, Mississippi, USA. Dan's films have also featured on DVD releases such as the Hamilton Underground Film Festival DVDs and the NZX2K10 DVD. In 2009 Dan founded Luminis Limited, a company specialising in photograph restoration and alteration services, image digitisation, and photography. More information and contact details can be found on the Luminis Limited website.


Dan, who has spent time in Australia and Canada, currently resides in Hamilton, New Zealand.
